Color, Color, Everywhere!!

When Sara Westermark works in her jewelry studio, she has a secret weapon to keep her focused and in the zone. Game of Thrones. Outlander. Eragon. The sound of melodic Scot and Irish voices reading these tales of intrigue, time travel, and plot twists, provide the mental imagery that summons the creativity needed to keep her concentration.

In her own scheme of life, things were not so fraught with conspiracies and trickery. Sara actually never set out to be a jewelry designer. The occupation found her. When her son was born, she decided to stay home and not continue her job teaching music at Cape Fear Community College. It began as a hobby as a hobby, and she decided to enter a few local art shows and just like that, her business took off. Within a year, she was asked by Lark Books to contribute to one of their publications called, "The Jewelry Design Project". Her work has since been published in four Lark Books--"The Jewelry Design Project," "30-Minute Necklaces," "30-Minute Rings," and "2010 Ring A Day".
She has recently created a collection that goes beautifully with Wilmington designer, Emily Newnan's ladies' clothing line called "Southern Frock". Emily's fabric designs have bright and bold colors, so consequently, Sara's jewelry follows suit. They are whimsical and fun, just like the clothes.

This new colorful line of Sara's is made of enamel over copper, with titanium wire. There is something for all ages, in either the jewelry line, or the "Southern Frock" collection. Come out to Spectrum Gallery and take a look our latest artists' work. You'll be glad you did. This is a true winning combination!
