Weathered dune fences and the wild flowers that struggle to grow around them, the ocean and inland waterways, formal gardens that show off the beauty that is the southeast coast - all provide a wealth of inspiration for Phil Meade.

Oil painter, Phil Meade, of Leland, NC, has always been interested in art. He started drawing and painting in high school and went on to study art at the Newark School of Fine and Industrial Art. After graduating, he went on to pursue a commercial art career. As a graphic designer, he found that his understanding of light and shadow along with form and perspective guided his illustrations in a real and convincing manner.

Now that Phil has retired, he is pursuing his dream of painting full time as a professional artist.
