“Knowing Star's reputation and the quality and variety of jewelry she presents in the gallery, I was confident that she would be able to redesign and fabricate my sapphire and diamond ring. Having the computer program available to actually present each idea we proposed was invaluable to me in seeing all of the possibilities. We kept in touch via e-mail, complete with pictures of the proposed design and a cost estimate. She made the process not only fun, but easy as well. I provided the original ring, an 18kt gold shank with an oval sapphire and two round diamonds. Star provided additional gold and platinum.

My Custom design experience was a lot of fun. 

Star had lots of pictures for me to look at for custom designed rings.

I provided the stones for the setting and Star provided the gold.

I cashed in some of my unloved gold pieces to offset the cost of the setting.

My jewelry box contained four diamond rings
that each held great sentimental value.

too tight or looked too dainty on my long fingers.
 I had seen Star Sosa's designs and
knew that she and her goldsmith,

My great-grandmother's cluster ring
was transformed into an eye-catching stunner
with the addition of a wide gold band.
My grandmother's platinum and diamond engagement ring was delicately stretched over a blanket of gold,
blending the best features of the antique ring
with the flair of a modern design.
My mother's engagement ring
was joined with my own
to create a one-of-a-kind
 bypass ring that is equally feminine and bold.
And finally, the lovely stone from a battered 1920s ring
found new life in a contemporary pinky ring.

Some of my rings needed additional gold to augment the settings. I gathered old wedding bands and other bent and broken pieces of 14k and 18k jewelry and watched in awe as these items reappeared weeks later in stunning new forms. How exciting and rewarding to know that the gold
worn by generations before me is now with me each day.
None of this would have been possible without
 Star's artistic vision.

She kept the best features of the old
jewelry and added just enough of a
modern design to make a visual statement.
