"My art journey has taken me down many roads.  With a career as a high school art teacher, working in multiple media was both a necessity and also a way of life.

My first long time endeavor in my personal studio was as a fiber artist.  I created hand woven fabrics with signature textured and colored surfaces. Trained in fashion design, I transformed my fabric into modern clothing and accessory designs, selling to private customers.

 I painted as well, experimenting in different paint media, working first in watercolors and then moving into acrylics. Always, I found myself drawn into the surfaces I created, and my art was less about actual imagery. I played with my painted surfaces, often embellishing with fiber and wire. Metal intrigued me, and when a friend talked about taking a jewelry fabrication class together at a local university, I thought with my interest in metal and fondness for jewelry, why not?

I was hooked immediately, and continued with classes, studying privately as well.  Dropping my work in all other media, I have never looked back.  I have found metals to be a continual learning process, and my years as a teacher and a studio artist have taught me to be a learner as well."
