Anne Boysen

“Painting is my life, my work, and my pleasure,” says Philadelphia artist,
Anne Boysen.  She is unable to pinpoint her exact inspiration, but she believes
that it rises from her deep appreciation, love, and respect for music and nature.

Ninety–eight percent of the work Anne does has the common thread of nature, flowers,
and music.  These themes are expressed in her paintings as either the literal interpretation
or, in the case of an abstract painting, as her basic inspiration.

Flowers are a key element in Anne’s life. Whether it’s one flower or an entire field, something about flowers– their delicacy, color, perfume,  or shape captures Anne’s spirit.  When you look at an Anne Boysen painting you will find an abstract interpretation of nature expressed through color, texture and collage.

Anne Boysen is also a musician who infuses musical rhythms into her work. A singing trip to Eastern Europe has given her art new flavor as she expands her musical repertoire.

An award-winning painter, Anne has studied art at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, the Philadelphia College of Art, and Temple University. Her work has been exhibited in many individual and group exhibitions throughout the eastern United States.
